Green Genius signs a long-term contract with Ferrero

Green Genius, the renewable energy company that is a part of international group of companies Modus Group, signed a 15-year contract with Ferrero, one of the largest confectionery and chocolate manufacturers in the world. The green energy company will provide an onsite PPA (Power purchase agreement to Ferrero factory in Poland)

Green Genius is going to install the solar power plant next to Ferrero Polska factory by the end of this year. The total capacity of the plant will amount to more than 2.2  MW. It has been estimated that during the term of agreement, Ferrero will use more than 30 million kWh of green energy. By using green electricity in its operations, Ferrero will also reduce negative impact on the environment: the annual savings of CO2 will comprise nearly 2 thousand tons – it is equivalent to the CO2 that approximately 22 thousand trees could absorb in a year.

More and more responsible organisations are looking for environmentally-friendly solutions. We see a growing interesting in our service in the business segment, therefore we will continue concentrating on development of this service. The trust of such well-renowned companies as Ferrero demonstrates that Green Genius is perceived as a reliable partner and our services meet the highest international standards,” said Ruslan Sklepovič, CEO of Green Genius and Board member at Modus Group responsible for the renewable energy sector.

“Ferrero” is committed to its strategy to reduce the negative impact on the environment through the implementation of innovative and modern solutions across the entire value chain. Electricity from renewable solar energy will not only allow to use green energy in the company’s operations but also achieve their energy efficiency targets. This type of cooperation reduces electricity costs and impacts the emergence of new solar energy assets.   It is innovative because new solar power parks have an important role in the fight against climate changeThis will help Ferrero achieve its new Climate 2030 commitmment communicated in the new Sustainability report.

Green Genius started providing onsite PPA solution 4 years ago. In the scope of this service, the company installs solar power plants for its clients free of charge, while the organisations pay only for the energy consumed.
