Green Genius Strengthens Governance: Seeking Independent Supervisory Board Member

International renewable energy company Green Genius, belonging to Modus Group, has initiated the search for an independent member for its newly created supervisory board. In October, the company also announced attracting a €100M investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which will become a minority shareholder, supporting Green Genius’s growth and sustainability goals. 

Along with the attracted investment, a new supervisory board will be formed for the Green Genius management company in the Netherlands, consisting of four members: three members will be appointed by the main shareholder Modus Group, and one by the minority shareholder EBRD. It is expected that the independent member will help achieve strategic development and sustainability goals. 

„Following international good governance practices, we see the Green Genius supervisory board as a crucial body ensuring professional and independent company management. The new member will contribute to the company’s strategy, risk management, business, financial, investment, and development plans. We are looking for candidates with work experience in supervisory boards and international company management. We also prioritize candidates with board chair experience,” says Ainė Martinkėnaitė-Martyniuk, Chair of the Modus Group Board. 

Green Genius CEO Ruslanas Sklepovičius emphasized: „An independent voice on the supervisory board will strengthen our position and help ensure sustainable development. This will not only increase transparency but also provide a new perspective necessary for achieving ambitious goals in the renewable energy sector. We expect this position to attract a top-level professional who will help us navigate the complex and dynamic energy market more effectively. This is an important step towards our growth vision and sustainability goals.”

Green Genius operates in eight European countries, developing solar, wind, battery, and biomethane energy projects. Over the past 18 years, It has become one of the clean energy innovation leaders, rapidly expanding its project portfolio in Europe. The EBRD investment will help develop new renewable energy projects, contributing to Europe’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
