“Green Genius” signs the first development contract in Romania

Renewable energy company Green Genius signs the first solar development contract in Romania and thereby begins the implementation of its total 500MW solar portfolio in this country.  

 “The solar business is being re-evaluated in many countries now, and this transition in perception is mostly driven by the urge. The need of accelerating solar development naturally creates new possibilities in some countries. Allowing ourselves to adapt and act promptly, we’re about to double our solar portfolio in Europe this year”, – points out Simonas Šileikis, Head of Solar Business at Green Genius.  

 “Romania has been on our maps for couple of years now as a country with a substantial potential for developing renewables, so much needed by Europe currently,” – says Filip Sypko, Head of Global Business Development at “Green Genius”. – “It is well planned milestone in our journey towards empowering sustainability and providing more of economic stability in the continent.” 

 For the development of the first stage “Green Genius” has chosen local Romanian developers with well tracked history of experienced. The cooperation will start by developing a 10 MW solar park at the South of Romania, investing over 8m. At the moment, “Green Genius” has nearly 180 MW early-stage projects in Romania and aims to build solar portfolio of total 500MW in 3 years. Romania is one of eight countries in Europe, where “Green Genius” operates.
